As a fitness business owner, I believe health isn't just about our bodies—it’s about the well-being of our neighborhoods, land, and environment. That’s why I’m committed to building a more sustainable, resilient New Orleans through practical, community-driven environmental initiatives.
I will champion the creation of “Art Learning Spaces” in our parks and recreation areas—interactive environments where residents, especially children, can explore why we flood, how tools like rain barrels and pervious pavement can help, and what actions we can take at home. Education will be hands-on, creative, and empowering.
Just like we celebrate our culture through Mardi Gras porch competitions, I will launch Neighborhood Sustainability Challenges to spark friendly, eco-conscious competition. Categories like “Cleanest Street Drains” and “Most Creative Garden” will encourage innovation and neighborhood pride. I will also challenge local contractors to install solar-powered benches—functional art painted by local artists, showcasing our city’s creativity and commitment to the environment.
On a citywide scale, I will push for:
Together, we can build a healthier, more resilient, and better-prepared New Orleans—one block, one bench, one garden at a time.
Yours in good health, and high vibration,
---Leilani K. Heno
I grew my business by creating accountability-based, self-sustaining systems. Systems are what’s needed to stop governing through patchwork fixes. Without them, we end up redoing the same things over and over, wasting energy that should be spent on growth.
When you vote, please vote for a leader with the critical thinking skills to create self-sustaining systems so that our city can finally grow.
It’s time for leadership that pays attention, and takes responsibility.
Before you vote, ask yourself: Am I standing by familiar faces, or standing up for the values that will protect my family’s future?
If you’re a small business owner, entrepreneur, or someone with big dreams here in New Orleans, this message is for you.
If you only watch one video from me, make it this one. After the last line, ask yourself….
Does this make sense?
